Henry Atkinson for
small group guitar lessons. Henry is currently studying a Graduate Diploma of
Education (Primary) and earlier in life developed his theoretical and technical guitar skills during studies
in a Bachelor of Education (Music) at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) where he
studied Classical Guitar.Henry posesses a Working With Children Check and a Police Clearance.
During a 10week course, Henry will provide inspirational lessons, teaching methods to develop your child’s
listening, playing and reading skills and ultimately encouraging in your child a greater appreciation and
deeper understanding of musical concepts.

Class is held in Henry & Deirdre’s home in Leederville. Address supplied on enrollment
Workbook used is Progressive Guitar Method for Young Beginners (provided)
Class structure is 1 hour split in to 1 x 30mins theory + 1 x 30mins practical
We recommended a minimum of 30mins practice per week
Drop children off or stay for a cup of tea in our courtyard
Purchasing a guitar
When purchasing your child's guitar, please make sure your guitar has nylon strings (Classical guitar) as they are gentler on beginner’s
fingers and can help minimise calluses. Children’s guitars are chosen based on your child’s height. Be sure to bring your child to the store
with you so you and the store staff can determine the correct sized guitar.

Private Guitar Lessons
Henry is also available for private 1-2-1 tuition at our home or if you prefer at yours (extra $25per term). Private courses are booked in 5 week
blocks. Days and times can be negotiated at your convenience. A 5week term costs $230. If you require a trial lesson prior to booking in for the term the cost is $50ph.
